about

Hey Planetoids,

Here's a new album of old & weird shit from before I started releasing music! It's something I gotta do. There are 43 mostly unreleased tracks from my past. It's not chip. Only some are electronic. Most of it is guitar-based and experimental. There is some four track drum machine action. There is electric, steel string, and even classical guitar. There's three MIDI tracks. And yes, I even sing a few ditties (including an Irish drinking song and a song about NJ). These tracks represent my first few attempts at music when I was just figuring things out and I wanted to show the entire journey to where I ended up when I started releasing tunes in 2016. There is success. There are failures. Some is good. Some is bad. The filenames are mostly preserved the way they originally were. No mastering. No limiters. No editing. No fade outs. Some tracks just end abruptly. These are the original recordings and renders. Embrace the weirdness!

~ Disposable Planet

p.s. Some of the recordings and renders are pretty raw - so.... you have been acoustically warned.

releases April 22, 2024

All music made from 1999 to 2015.

Sample of "Vivare" by Carlo Buti at the end of Track #1.

Track #17 is "Adelita", composed by Francisco Tarréga for classical guitar. Sadly, it's the only recording of my old repertoire I have that isn't an original composition.

A few random samples taken from the old ass internet a long time ago including the Ronald & Nancy Regan drug speech used in Track #31 (I did not make that - if anyone knows where it is from or who made it I will credit them - that tune, "Leslie Nielsen lost in the Reaganaverse" is my first ever attempt at electronic music so I had to put it on this album in its complete entirety). However, the sample of Ronald Regan saying that shit about bombing Russia is from a hot mic and one hundred percent real. Minus the countdown and blast. I think.

Picture on cover possibly taken by Jonathan Tripp, Tobias Nolle, or an unnamed person in possession of the SLR camera on the set of "Chronos" (iirc?).

Instruments and software used: Sagen de Jonge nylon-string classical guitar, Fender steel-string acoustic, Guild Polara S100 electric guitar, Tascam 4-Track tape recorder, old BOSS Dr. Rhythm Drum Machine I borrowed, Propellerheads Reason, GarageBand, Audacity, some old software I don't remember, Sibelius G7 for the standard notation of the MIDI (it was like a baby version of their main program, iirc), some guitar pedals including Chorus, Blues Driver, and Compressor.

thanks to everyone ever or not - you decide....

There are four lights....

LYRICS:

CHARLIE, YOU'RE RIGHT OUT OF LINE

Oh, Charlie you're right out of line
Oh, you've sure gone and done it this time
I tried to be fair, but you pissed in me hair
Oh, Charlie you're right out of line

Oh, Charlie you've gone way to far
You said I sound like a pirate when I say "Arrr"
I gave you a chance, but you mocked my parlance
Get your friend and get the fuck out of me bar

Oh, Charlie you're too fucking wild
You're dangerous, you're drunken and riled
Oh, I love ya to death, but you had to smoke meth
In front of me eight-year old child

[Flute solo]

80s ROBOT LOVE

You said that it was over
But you acted like it was NOT
Sometimes you're like a four leaf clover
Sometimes you're like a bad robot

Now you are coming over
So I gotta hide my bag of pot
Gotta hide the fact that I am bipolar
Gotta act smooth even though I'm NOT

America...
...broke my heart
(check it)

All these people they want their own chance
They want to add a few more seconds to a two second dance
They want big meaning with their meaningless trance
They want their face in your memory
They want THEIR NAME ON YOUR PANTS!!!!

America
(Particular glances!)
Broke my heart
(Political stances!)
Nevermind the real world
The fake one enhances itself
While you drift between
(Hollow romances!)
Giving up one day
(While tHe pLaNeT advances!)

Act smooth...

Now you are coming over
So I gotta hide my bag of pot
Gotta hide the fact that I am bipolar
Gotta act smooth even though I'm NOT

(pick it up)

...NOT!

AUNT SAMANTHA

Oh, your life in the city
With its boxes and walls
Was built upon the notion
Of one versus all
How could you squander all that mystery
for knick knacks on the wall
While they're replacing all your forests
With shopping malls

Oh, my darling
Don't you dare lie down (x2)

Rating your surroundings
In shades of green
Sorting all your nightmares
into plastic magazines
It's the world spinning 'round you
It's the places that you've fled
And it's squeezing at your mind
Until your senses have bled

Leaving you wishing
For death or bed (x2)

Getting told what to fear
Getting ordered what to choose
Has a funny way of leaving you
Not quite knowing what to do
I would leave this place
but my heart will always send
My body to wake up
In America again

Oh, my darling
Don't you dare lie down (x2)

Aunt Samantha,
Don't you dare lie down (x2)

Ba ba doo bo dee bo pah bo pah

THE NEW JERSEY SONG

New Jersey,
Though you smell like shit sometimes
I really want to make you mine
From the Turnpike to the Pines
New Jersey,
Though you never done me wrong
We've never been apart for too long
That's why I sing this song
For New Jersey,
Whether it's the endless furniture stores
Or the crackheads at the shore
I'll always love you to the core
Of New Jersey,
Where the clams are six feet tall
Where you can get stabbed at the mall
Summer, Winter, Spring or Fall

Whether it's traffic jams or development plans
I LOVE NEW JERSEY
There's no other state where I would rather be

New Jersey,
Where the cops all eat glue
'till the age of twenty-two
Where the streams run thick with goo
New Jersey,
Where the zoning makes no sense
Where the population's way to dense
Where your parents pay your rent
New Jersey,
Where you buy fake fancy clothes
Where McMansions sit in pretty rows
Where your paycheck goes up your nose
New Jersey,
Where the shops are closed on Sundays
Where everyone's an asshole on Mondays.
And Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.... you get the picture

Whether it's toxic paste or medical waste
I LOVE NEW JERSEY
There's no other state where I would rather be

Oh I'll always long for your rolling hills
With your beauty shinin' like an oil spill
Acid rain that stings and chills
Where the air's so sweet that it fucking kills
(Where the housewives all take pills)

New Jersey,
Where the town pool is filled with pee
Or a brand new strain of STD
Where everybody drives an SUV
New Jersey,
Where the 'burbs are sanitized
Where the fries are super-sized
And Springsteen's canonized
New Jersey,
Where the white boys think they're tough
Where you don't ever grow up
Where the devil fills your cup
New Jersey,
That's where I was born and raised
In some suburban maze
That's where I spend my days

Whether it's pool hall sharks or industrial parks
I LOVE NEW JERSEY
There's no other state where I would rather be

There's no other state where I would rather be

There's no other state where I would rather be
